Questions
How many players does ARQA support?
Two to four. Each player rules a different kingdom from the first turn. In a three-player game, one player must take Egypt.
Which kingdoms can I play in ARQA?
Five, and the roster is fixed: Greece, Dacia, Armenia, Parthia and Egypt. Each has its own capital, its own colour on the map and its own kingdom board.
How long does a game of ARQA take?
Between 45 and 90 minutes, depending on the number of players and whether you play a short or a long campaign. The rulebook sets campaign length in rounds rather than minutes: 30 rounds for a short campaign, 60 or 90 for a long one.
Is ARQA hard to learn?
No. The core rules take minutes and the tutorial video walks a full game in one sitting. Mastering it is a different question, because most of the difficulty comes from the other players rather than from the rules.
Can players be eliminated in ARQA?
Yes. If you lose your last warrior, or your capital is captured, you are out of that game. Worth knowing in advance if your group dislikes player elimination.
Can we form alliances in ARQA?
You can negotiate freely, promise anything and make any deal you like, but none of it binds. Agreements are unenforceable, and warriors from different kingdoms can never be combined into one force.
Do I need to buy the box to read the rules?
No. The full rulebook is free to read and the tutorial video is free to watch.
Where can I buy ARQA?
Nowhere at the moment. The first print run has sold out and we are between runs. Leave an address on the How to Get It page and we will email you the day that changes.
What is Arqa Online?
A browser version of ARQA, single player to begin with, currently in development. There is no release date yet.
What is next for Dwin Games?
ARQA is the current focus. When there is a second title to talk about, it will be announced here.
